Making Your Crochet Pink Giraffe Amigurumi

Materials:

  • Pink yarn (worsted weight)
  • Black yarn (small amount)
  • Crochet hook (size suitable for your yarn)
  • Safety eyes (2)
  • Fiberfill
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Step by step Pattern

Head and Body:

  1. Start with the magic ring. Crochet 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring, slip stitch (sl st) to join. (6 sc)
  2. Increase round: Crochet 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
  3. Rounds 3-12: Continue crocheting sc around, increasing 1 sc evenly in each round. (The number of increases will vary depending on the pattern you follow, but it should be around 6-8 increases per round.)
  4. Shape the neck: Once you reach the desired neck width, stop increasing. Continue crocheting sc around for a few rounds without increasing.
  5. Stuff the head firmly.
  6. Shape the face: Start decreasing sc evenly around until you have the desired head shape.
  7. Embroider the facial features: Use black yarn to embroider the eyes, nose, and mouth.
  8. Attach the safety eyes.

Legs:

  1. Make 4 legs: Chain 4, sc in the second chain from the hook, continue sc to the end of the chain. Turn, sc in each stitch across. Chain 2, turn, sc in each stitch across. Continue crocheting rows of sc, increasing 1 sc at each end of every other row until you have the desired leg width. Stuff the legs and sew them to the body.

Tail:

  1. Chain a long chain (about the length you want the tail to be).
  2. Single crochet back down the chain.
  3. Sew the tail to the body.

Ears:

  1. Make 2 ears: Chain 6, sc in the second chain from the hook, continue sc to the end of the chain. Turn, sc in each stitch across. Chain 2, turn, sc in each stitch across. Decrease by crocheting 2 sc together at the end of each row until you have a small triangle. Sew the ears to the head.

Finishing touches:

  1. Weave in any loose ends.
  2. Add any embellishments you like, such as spots or flowers.

Tips:

  • Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.
  • Stuff the giraffe firmly but evenly to avoid gaps.
  • You can adjust the size of the giraffe by using different yarn weights and hook sizes.
