  • <: Stitch starts in the same space the last stitch ended
  • {}: Stitches between brackets are not worked into in the next row
  • ≈: Approximately
  • Sl st to beginning st, ch: Pieces crocheted in the round are joined with a slip stitch to the start, with a turning chain. This slip stitch and chain are not counted in the stitch count of each row. Always start the next row in the same stitch as the slip stitch (never crochet into the slip stitch).
