Step by step Pattern

Body:

  1. Start with the white yarn and make a magic ring.
  2. Crochet 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
  3. Increase in each stitch around (12 sc).
  4. Place a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.
  5. Continue crocheting in rounds of sc, increasing in every other stitch until you have 30-36 sc, depending on the desired size of the jellyfish.
  6. Work without increasing until the body reaches the desired length.
  7. Stuff the body firmly as you crochet.
  8. Start decreasing by crocheting two sc together in every other stitch.
  9. Continue decreasing until you have 12-18 sc, leaving an opening for stuffing.
  10. Stuff the top of the body and finish off, weaving in the end.

Tentacles (make 8-10):

  1. Attach the blue yarn to the bottom edge of the body.
  2. Chain 40-50 sc, or desired tentacle length.
  3. Slip stitch in the second chain from the hook to form a loop.
  4. Continue crocheting in a spiral, increasing at the beginning of each round by crocheting two sc in the first stitch.
  5. Once you reach the desired tentacle width, continue crocheting without increasing for a few rounds.
  6. Start decreasing by crocheting two sc together in each round's first and last stitch.
  7. Continue decreasing until you have 2-3 sc.
  8. Finish off and weave in the end.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8 to make more tentacles.

Bell (optional):

  1. Attach the pink yarn to the top of the body, around the opening.
  2. Crochet a round of sc in the pink yarn, evenly decreasing around the opening.
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds of sc, decreasing as needed to create a bell shape.
  4. Finish off and weave in the end.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the tentacles evenly around the bottom edge of the body.
  2. If you made a bell, sew it to the top of the body.
  3. Attach the safety eyes to the face (optional).
  4. Embroider a small mouth with the pink yarn (optional).

Tips:

  • You can adjust the size of the amigurumi by using different yarn weights and crochet hook sizes.
  • You can also experiment with different colors for the body, tentacles, and bell.
  • If you are a beginner, you may want to use stitch markers to help you keep track of where you are in your rounds.
