  • Yarn:
    • Light brown worsted weight yarn (for the body)
    • Pink worsted-weight yarn (for the nose and hooves)
    • Black worsted-weight yarn (for the eyes and muzzle)
    • White worsted-weight yarn (for the eyes)
  • Crochet hook: 3.25mm
  • Safety eyes: 8mm
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers (optional)

Step by step Pattern

Body:

  1. Using light brown yarn, make a magic ring and chain 3.
  2. Work 11 single crochets (sc) into the ring, joining with a slip stitch to the top of the first sc.
  3. Place a stitch marker (optional) and work in a spiral, increasing 6 sc evenly each round for 7 rounds.
  4. Work 28 rounds without increasing.
  5. Stuff the body firmly.
  6. Continue working 28 rounds without increasing.
  7. Decrease 6 sc evenly in each round for 6 rounds.
  8. Do not stuff.
  9. Pull the remaining yarn tight and fasten it off.

Head:

  1. Using light brown yarn, make a magic ring and chain 3.
  2. Work 11 sc into the ring, join with a slip stitch to the top of the first sc.
  3. Place a stitch marker (optional) and work in a spiral, increasing 6 sc evenly each round for 6 rounds.
  4. Work 22 rounds without increasing.
  5. Stuff the head firmly.
  6. Continue working 22 rounds without increasing.
  7. Decrease 6 sc evenly in each round for 5 rounds.
  8. Do not stuff.
  9. Pull the remaining yarn tight and fasten it off.

Legs (make 4):

  1. Using light brown yarn, make a magic ring and chain 3.
  2. Work 11 sc into the ring, join with a slip stitch to the top of the first sc.
  3. Place a stitch marker (optional) and work in a spiral, increasing 6 sc evenly each round for 3 rounds.
  4. Work 24 rounds without increasing.
  5. Do not stuff.
  6. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Feet (make 4):

  1. Using pink worsted weight yarn, chain 5.
  2. Turn and work 4 sc in the next chain 4 spaces.
  3. Turn and work 3 sc in the back loops only of the previous row.
  4. Work 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts.
  5. Slip stitch in the top of the turning chain to close.
  6. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
  7. Sew the feet to the bottom of the legs.

Ears (make 2):

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 8.
  2. Turn and work 5 sc in the back loops only of the previous row.
  3. Chain 1 and turn.
  4. Work 4 sc in the back loops only of the previous row.
  5. Chain 1 and turn.
  6. Work 3 sc in the back loops only of the previous row.
  7. Chain 1 and turn.
  8. Work 2 sc in the back loops only of the previous row.
  9. Chain 1 and turn.
  10. Work 1 sc in the back loop only of the previous row.
  11. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Tail:

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 15.
  2. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the head to the body.
  2. Sew the ears to the top of the head, tilting them slightly forward.
  3. Sew the legs to the body, positioning them evenly.
  4. Attach the safety eyes, adding small white yarn circles around them for pupils.
  5. Using black yarn, embroider a small muzzle and nostrils on the face.
  6. Sew on a small pink pom-pom for the nose.
  7. Sew the tail to the back of the body.
