A magic circle or magic loop is the easiest way to start working in rounds. Learning this technique is very necessary as loads of projects, especially amigurumi must be worked this way. How To Crochet Magic Ring

To crochet a magic ring, begin by looping your yarn around your fingers, creating a circle. Make sure to leave a tail for later. Slip your crochet hook through the loop, yarn over (yo), and pull up a loop to start your first chain stitch, still inside the ring. Yarn over again and pull through to complete the chain. This will secure the magic ring. Start your project with the required number of single crochet stitches (or the pattern's specified stitch) into the ring. Once you have the desired number of stitches, pull the tail of your yarn to close the circle tightly. Voila, you have created one, ready to serve as a strong and adjustable start for your crochet projects!
