Step by step Pattern

Red half:

  1. Start with the magic ring. With red yarn, make a magic ring and crochet 6 sc into the ring. Pull the magic ring tight to close.
  2. Increase. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc total).
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds. In the next round, crochet 1 sc in the first stitch, then 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat this around, crocheting 1 sc in one stitch and 2 sc in the next, until you have completed the round (18 sc total).
  4. Continue increasing. Crochet 2 more rounds of 18 sc each.
  5. Shape the bottom. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in the first 3 stitches, then 1 sc in each of the next 9 stitches, then 2 sc in the last 3 stitches (18 sc total).
  6. Crochet rounds without increasing. Crochet 5-6 rounds of 18 sc each.
  7. Stuff the bottom half. Gently stuff the bottom half of the Pokeball with stuffing until it is firm but still soft.
  8. Decrease. Crochet 3-4 rounds, decreasing by 1 stitch each round. To make a decrease, crochet the two stitches together as one sc. (Rounds: 15-14 sc, 13-12 sc)

White center:

  1. Change to white yarn. With white yarn, make a magic ring and crochet 6 sc into the ring. Pull the magic ring tight to close.
  2. Increase. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc total).
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds. Crochet 3-4 rounds of 12 sc each.
  4. Join to red half. Sew the white center to the top edge of the red half using a tapestry needle and thread.

White top stripe:

  1. Change to white yarn. With white yarn, crochet a chain slightly longer than the circumference of the top of the Pokeball.
  2. Single crochet around. Starting at one end of the chain, single crochet into each stitch around the top edge of the Pokeball, joining to the first sc with a slip stitch.

Black details:

  1. Change to black yarn. With black yarn, embroider a circle around the center white section.
  2. Embroider a thick stripe along the top edge of the Pokeball, covering the seam between the red and white sections.
  3. Embroider a small circle in the center of the top white stripe.
  4. Add the button: You can embroider a button detail or sew on a small black button.
  5. Add eyes (optional): Sew on the safety eyes.

Finishing touches:

  • You can add a small loop of yarn to the top of the Pokeball for hanging.
  • Enjoy your new Pokeball amigurumi!

Uses: The Crochet Pokeball Amigurumi Pattern helps create a plush, tender, and charming piece that adds color to your space. The process of creating this spherical buddy is relatively quick and straightforward, making it a brilliant choice for last-minute gifts or quick recreational projects.

Materials:

  • Aran yarn
  • 5mm Crochet hook

Making: Starting with a Magic Circle, the foundation of the Pokeball is laid out. This technique allows for the crochet piece to begin with a tightly closed center, ideal for creating balls or stuffed figures. Increases (Inc) and Decreases (Dec), specifically the Invisible Decrease, are utilized to shape the curve of the Pokeball. These techniques enable the transition from a flat circle to a three-dimensional form through strategic stitch multiplication and reduction. Lastly, Back Loop Only (BLO) stitches are employed at certain rounds to add defining lines characteristic of a Pokeball's design, subtly shifting the texture and aligning the folds neatly.
