  • Wings and beak: Orange worsted weight yarn
  • Crown: Yellow worsted weight yarn

  • Crochet hook: 3.5mm
  • Polyester stuffing: For filling
  • Yarn needle: For assembling and embroidering details

Body:

  1. Using the light brown yarn, start with a magic ring and crochet 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
  2. Increase in each stitch around (12 sc).
  3. Continue crocheting around in sc, increasing 6 stitches evenly spaced every other round until you have 36 sc.
  4. Place a marker at the start of the round.
  5. Continue crocheting in SC without increasing until the body measures about 4 inches tall.
  6. Start stuffing the body as you crochet.
  7. Decrease by crocheting two sc together at the end of each round.
  8. Continue decreasing until you have only 6 sc remaining.
  9. Stuff the body firmly and close the hole by crocheting the remaining stitches together.

Legs:

  1. Attach the light brown yarn to the bottom of the body.
  2. Make a chain of 6 sc.
  3. Turn and sc in each stitch across.
  4. Chain 2 and turn. Sc in each stitch across, increasing at the beginning of each row.
  5. Continue increasing until the leg is the desired length.
