Step by step Pattern

Head:

  1. Start with the magic ring. With skin tone yarn, make a magic ring and crochet 6 sc into the ring. Pull the magic ring tight to close.
  2. Increase. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in each stitch around (12 sc total).
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds. In the next round, crochet 1 sc in the first stitch, then 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat this around, crocheting 1 sc in one stitch and 2 sc in the next, until you have completed the round (18 sc total).
  4. Continue increasing. Crochet 2 more rounds of 18 sc each.
  5. Shape the head. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in the first 3 stitches, then 1 sc in each of the next 12 stitches, then 2 sc in the last 3 stitches (18 sc total).
  6. Crochet rounds without increasing. Crochet 3-4 rounds of 18 sc each.
  7. Shape the face. In the next round, crochet 2 sc in the first 3 stitches, then 1 sc in each of the next 8 stitches, then 2 sc together, then 1 sc in each of the next 8 stitches, then 2 sc in the last 3 stitches (16 sc total).
  8. Stuff the head. Gently stuff the head with stuffing until it is firm but still soft.
  9. Close the head. Crochet 3-4 rounds, decreasing by 1 stitch each round. To make a decrease, crochet the two stitches together as one sc. (Rounds: 13-12 sc, 10-9 sc)
  10. Add the ears. With brown yarn, crochet 6 sc into a magic ring. Increase to 8 sc in the next round by crocheting 2 sc in each stitch. Crochet 3-4 rounds of 8 sc each. Fasten off and weave in the ends. Make another ear the same way. Sew the ears to the head.
  11. Add the eyes. Sew on the safety eyes, or embroider eyes with black yarn.
  12. Embroider the mouth. With black yarn, embroider a small smile on the face.
