Materials:

  • Chenille yarn:
    • 50g in light brown (body, ears, and muzzle)
    • Small amounts in dark brown (eyes and nose), white (eyes and muzzle), and pink (cheeks)
  • 3.25mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Black safety eyes (8mm)
  • Fiberfill stuffing

Step by step Pattern

Body:

  1. Using light brown yarn, make a magic ring and crochet 6 sc into the ring.
  2. Increase to 12 sc by crocheting 2 sc in each stitch.
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds, increasing 6 sc evenly each round until you have 36 sc.
  4. Crochet 6 rounds without increasing.
  5. Start stuffing the body with fiberfill as you crochet.
  6. Continue crocheting rounds without increasing until the body reaches the desired length, finishing with a decreased round by crocheting 2 sc together in each stitch.
  7. Tie off and weave in ends.

Head:

  1. Switch to light brown yarn and make a magic ring.
  2. Crochet 6 sc into the ring.
  3. Increase to 12 sc by crocheting 2 sc in each stitch.
  4. Continue crocheting in rounds, increasing 6 sc evenly each round until you have 24 sc.
  5. Crochet 4 rounds without increasing.
  6. Start stuffing the head with fiberfill as you crochet.
  7. Add safety eyes (or embroider eyes using black yarn and white yarn for the whites of the eyes).
  8. Crochet 2 more rounds without increasing.
  9. Decrease to 18 sc by crocheting 2 sc together every other stitch.
  10. Finish off and weave in ends.

Ears (x2):

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 8 stitches.
  2. Turn and sc in each stitch.
  3. Decrease to 7 sc by crocheting 2 sc together at the end of the row.
  4. Repeat rows 2-3 until you have 3 sc remaining.
  5. Finish off and weave in ends.

Arms (x2):

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 12 stitches.
  2. Turn and sc in each stitch.
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds, without increasing, until the arm reaches the desired length.
  4. Finish off and weave in ends.

Legs (x2):

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 15 stitches.
  2. Turn and sc in each stitch.
  3. Continue crocheting in rounds, without increasing, until the leg reaches the desired length.
  4. Finish off and weave in ends.

Tail:

  1. Using light brown yarn, chain 10 stitches.
  2. Turn and sc in each stitch.
  3. Decrease to 9 sc by crocheting 2 sc together at the end of the row.
  4. Repeat row 3 until you have 3 sc remaining.
  5. Finish off and weave in ends.

Assembly:

  1. Sew the ears to the top of the head.
  2. Sew the head to the body.
  3. Sew the arms to the body of the bear, positioning them slightly angled.
  4. Sew the legs to the body of the bear, evenly spaced.
  5. Sew the tail to the back of the body.
  6. Using dark brown yarn, embroider a small nose.
  7. Using pink yarn, embroider small cheeks on the face.
